CODE OF CONDUCT

Radiate acknowledges that oppression and power are a factor in spaces where people gather, and that all of us are impacted differently by the benefits and marginalizations of these systems. Our objective with throwing events is to create a protective space for our community to enjoy music, visual art and each other’s company. We work towards creating a space that promotes consensual interactions and safer partying.

Look for our Peer Support team wearing red lanyards. Please approach them if you have an emergency or just want to talk something out. They have handouts with resources if you feel like you want some info on further support for after the party.  We also provide a chill zone near the merch booth.

Another option for non-emergency situations is our text support line (will be posted on the wall in several places in each event.) This line will be checked by the Peer Support team during the party. Please note this will be checked by all four members of the Radiate crew.

Radiate reserves the right to eject people from the party without re-entry who are creating an unsafe environment for others. Be conscious of how you may be affecting others with your words, physical proximity and body positioning, and gaze. This applies to anyone in the space – attendees, staff, artists, etc... everyone will be held to the same standard.

Oppressive behaviour such as, but not limited to, the following list will be taken seriously and addressed.

·       anti-Black, anti-Indigenous, anti-Semitic and/or other types of racism
·       size-shaming
·       anti-trans behaviour
·       anti-gay/lesbian/bi/queer behaviour
·       sexism
·       sexual violence and/or sexual harassment of any kind
·       pressuring or shaming people for using/not using substances
·       discrimination on the basis of socioeconomic class
·       discrimination on the basis of religious or political affiliation
·       ableism
·       wearing offensive or culturally appropriative attire
